"To learn effectively children must have well-developed sensory motor processes. Reading, speaking and writing are seen as 'the basics' when they are in fact extremely complex neurological tasks requiring the senses, muscles, nerves and the brain to all work together."

Getting Started
Dear Parents,
Hello again. Just a few words to outline what happens when you enrol into the Neuro Network (NN) home program. NN programs work on the basis that all children are intelligent and have a natural love and thirst for learning.
The NN programs are aimed at achieving School Readiness and Reading Readiness. For children already in school, we help them to realise their potential.
When you enrol we work through the following steps with you:
1. The Parent Information/ Education Session
Parents will attend a one hour session which is an introduction to the underlying principles of functional neuro developmental wellness. Parents are given a comprehensive understanding of the objectives, expected outcomes and costs for doing the program. After this session, parents have the option to proceed with enrolling into a Neuro Network Program.
2. The Initial Assessment and Program Design
After deciding to enrol, you bring your child with you to an Assessment session. At this session we assess your child, based on the principles outlined at the Information Session. This assessment helps us to design a program for your child to do at home.
The next step is for parents to experience the benefits of doing the home program. This is critical to the successful completion of the home program in the shortest possible time. |

3. Check In
You will come in every four weeks so we can evaluate the progress of your child. Feedback and communication is also maintained by phone and/or email while your child is on program.
4. The Purpose of the Program
The program strengthens the foundations of developmental wellness through sensory motor stimulation, enhancing learning the way the brain was wired to learn.
5. The Spirit of the Program
Children generally take to the program. For best outcomes, NN suggests the program be done regularly, in a spirit of joyousness and mutual respect. Like all other activities, keeping up with a routine can be a challenge. We will discuss with you how best to structure the program into your daily routine and have a system of rewards that are suitable for your child.
All the activities are safe and natural movements. It is best to do the activities when your child is alert and happy, first thing in the day rather than at the end of the day when they may be tired. It is highly recommended that common sense prevail in all situations.
6. The feedback
Parents doing a program primarily report happier children, demonstrating improvement in self confidence, learning, language, speaking, drawing, reading, understanding, behaviour, reasoning, coordination, health, stamina and social skills. In summary, everything can change for the better. |
